- I call my elderly father 3x a day. My mother just died 5 months ago so he's alone now and I live in about 2000 miles away from him. If he missed one call, I'd go berserk and we have an emergency plan in place so something like this doesn't happen, i.e., several days go by before anyone notices.

- AMEN!!!! DITTO!!!! WHAT HE SAID!!! Our household loves Hulu and that they have been able to provide their service for free this long is pretty impressive. The new service is more robust than the free service, so it's totally worth it for me.

- The narrow-minded opinion that only rednecks and people lacking technical savvy reside in rural areas is ignorant at best. No, I do not have a PONY, but I do have a spellchecker. I just relocated to a rural area after a lifetime of city living.
